Engines in China
Doubao, DeepSeek, Kimi, and related products are common asking surfaces in China. They consume more Chinese sites, media, and encyclopedia-like sources.
If your source of record is English-only, or the Chinese site still describes a retired offering, these engines will invent or mix you up.
International engines
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing Copilot are common overseas entry points. Perplexity and AI Overviews more often show citations, which rewards extractable pages.
English needs its own URLs, titles, and body copy — not machine translation stuffed into the Chinese address. Zhaoyang Intelligence uses the /en/ prefix with one entity file.
Do not test only the tool you like
Presence and error types diverge across engines. Optimizing the chat window you personally use misses the surface your buyer uses.
A visibility audit reports, per agreed engine: present, absent, wrong, or occupied by a competitor. That is an input to content and sources — not a ranking screenshot.
One entity, two markets
Legal name, Zhaoyang Intelligence, phone, and core offering must match across languages.
Emphasis can differ — Doubao and DeepSeek at home, ChatGPT and Perplexity abroad — without describing two unrelated companies.
Questions this page answers
Which engines should GEO cover?
In China: Doubao, DeepSeek, Kimi, and related products. Internationally: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing Copilot. Confirm the list in the audit.
Is testing only ChatGPT enough?
No. Presence and error types diverge across engines. One chat window does not represent what buyers see elsewhere.
